My name is Elyse, I'm the artist and owner of Forget Me Not Jewelry. My passion for preserving moments in time started many years ago with 3D castings and fingerprint jewelry. I started thinking about doing DNA jewelry shortly after losing my mom to ovarian cancer in 2019.

One of the biggest risks to ovarian cancer is genetics, so you can imagine how much I spiraled between grief and fear. However, did you know that studies have shown that any length of breastfeeding lowers your risk of ovarian cancer? And that the longer you breastfeed the more you reduce the risk, some studies show by as much as 30%! I have been very fortunate to have been able to breastfeed (extended) with all 3 of my children. It was especially emotional to nurse my youngest daughter, who was born only 11 months after my mom passed away (and is named after her).

 

By the time she weaned, I really felt like it was time to launch Forget Me Not Jewelry. I wanted a unique piece to combine my mom's ashes with my children's breast milk. A way to combine loss and new beginnings, risk with protection. 

. I truly believe there's beautiful purpose to be found in pain. My mission is to offer high quality, custom DNA jewelry at an affordable price to reach as many people and preserve as many memories as possible
